Jim Sillanpaa

PT
Physical Therapist

With more than 25 years of experience helping people move better and get back to the activities they love, Jim brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, problem-solving, and genuine connection to every patient he treats.

Jim has a particular passion for helping people with orthopedic and spine conditions, especially those who have been dealing with pain or movement limitations that are keeping them from doing the things they enjoy. His advanced training in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) gives him a specialized approach to evaluating and treating spine and musculoskeletal problems. Earlier in his career, Jim helped establish a Spine Clinic Program with Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, working closely with the Chief of Physiatry.

What Jim enjoys most about physical therapy is figuring out why someone isn’t moving the way they want to and developing a plan that makes sense for that individual. Whether the goal is returning to work, getting back on the golf course, hiking a favorite trail, staying active with family, or simply being able to move through the day without pain, Jim believes therapy should be practical, personalized, and focused on what matters most to the patient.

His broad clinical background includes acute hospital care, home health, outpatient orthopedics, clinical supervision, and industrial rehabilitation. That experience has given Jim a unique perspective on how injuries affect people not only in the clinic, but also at work and in everyday life.

And if you hear music coming from somewhere around Southwest Washington, there’s a good chance Jim is nearby. Outside the clinic, Jim is the frontman for Guava Jam, a popular regional band. He also enjoys woodworking and spending time outdoors with his wife hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and fishing.

Jim’s goal is simple: help you understand your body, build your confidence, and get you back to doing the things you love.
